From the moment you step into one of our showrooms, you are looked after by a close-knit team who genuinely care about your home and your experience. We believe great results come from honest conversations, hands-on involvement and taking the time to truly understand each client. This personal approach has defined HKS for over four decades and continues to guide how we work today.
Lloyd Burgess
Managing Director
Lloyd joined the family business in 2007 and has worked as a Designer at both the Haywards Heath and Heathfield showrooms. His favourite aspects of the job are working with customers throughout the process and seeing the completed project at the end.
When not at work, Lloyd enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. He is a keen sportsman and loves trail running, rugby, cricket and golf.
Anna Burgess
Showroom Manager & Front of House
Anna joined the family business having worked previously in the Hotel industry, where she learned all about sales and outstanding customer service. She loves dealing with clients and will be sure to give you a warm welcome into the showroom.
In her spare time Anna enjoys spending time with her family and friends and playing tennis.
Gary Sparks
Showroom Manager & Designer
Gary joined HKS in 2001 as an Assistant Designer in the Haywards Heath showroom and has progressed to a Designer and Showroom Manager. One of Gary’s bespoke kitchen designs was featured in the Kitchen, Bedroom, Bathroom magazine with a front page cover photo! Gary loves meeting different types of people and working with them on their Home Improvement projects.
Matt Haining
Showroom Manager & Designer
Matt joined HKS in 2016 and works at our Eastbourne showroom. Having learnt the trade from his father, Matt is an excellent designer and has great product knowledge and passion for the industry. He enjoys creating realistic CAD designs for his customers.
Matt is a keen Chelsea fan and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
Hannah McPhee
Designer
Hannah joined HKS Interiors as a designer with a background in interior architecture and a calm, considered approach to design. She enjoys creating balanced, practical spaces and supporting clients through the design process with clear guidance and attention to detail.
Outside of work, Hannah is also a bridal make-up artist and enjoys spending her time on creative projects that allow her to work closely with people.
A Family Heritage Built
Over 42 Years
Founded in 1983 by Tim Burgess, HKS began as Hastings Kitchen Studio in St Leonards on Sea, originally specialising in high-quality kitchens. As demand grew, the business expanded into fitted bedrooms and bathrooms, opening additional showrooms in Heathfield, Eastbourne and Haywards Heath between 1988 and 1996. Over four decades, HKS has designed and installed thousands of kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms across Sussex. Many of our team have been with us for much of this journey, helping us celebrate over 40 years built on trust, craftsmanship and long-standing customer relationships.
